How should you set up Internet Explorer for best performance?

Internet Explorer normally caches graphics, icons, and other information used to display a web page.  It is important that this cache be enabled when viewing web pages that are automatically refreshed, such as I/O status pages.

Follow these steps to make sure the cache is enabled for your browser.

  1. Launch Internet Explorer on your PC.
  2. Open "Internet Options..." under the "Tools" menu bar.
  3. Click on the "General" tab.
  4. Click on the "Settings..." button in the "Temporary Internet files" section.
  5. Under "Check for newer versions of stored pages:" select "Automatically".
  6. Click "Ok"
  7. Click "Ok"
