Servo Network Digital Inputs and Outputs

In a multiple controller, distributed servo network, the digital input and output signals on the slave controllers may be available for use by the master controller as general purpose interfacing signals.  If the slave controllers are PreciseFlex™ Guidance controllers, their standard general purpose digital inputs and outputs are accessible.  (Please refer to the documentation for your PreciseFlex™ slave controller for information on the specific number of digital inputs and outputs available.)  For 3rd party slave controllers, consult the manufacturer's documentation.

Only the master controller can access the digital I/O on a slave controller.  The slave controllers cannot access digital I/O on the master or on peer nodes.  The update period for these values is the same as the trajectory period set by ”Trajectory Generator update period in sec" (DataID 600).

To specify a signal number on a slave controller from the master controller, add 100000 times the slave controller's node number to a general I/O signal number.  The first slave controller has a node number of 2.  Therefore, add 200000 to a signal number in order to access the first slave controller's general digital I/O signals.
