This panel provides information on the serial port settings. This includes the baud rate, character size, stop bits, parity and hardware flow control configuration.
Serial Port Overview | |
---|---|
Baud Rate |
This is the rate (signal changes) that occur in 1 second. Supported modes are 4800, 9600, 14400, 19200, 38400, 57600 and 115200. The system ships with a default of 9600. The following higher rates are also permitted but the actual transmission rates are not accurate due to hardware limitations: 230400, 500000 and 1000000. |
Character size in bits |
This is the number of bits that represent a single byte. Compatible values are 7 or 8. The default is 8. |
Stop bits |
This is the number of bits used to mark a single data block. This is usually set to 1 but 0,1 or 2 are compatible values. |
Parity |
This is a simple form of error checking. By default this is off (0) but can be set to odd (1) or even (2). Check with your connected equipment specifications. |
Hardware flow control |
If enabled will require hardware handshaking from the connected device. By default this is disabled (No). |
Change Settings |
This button will link you over to the Configuration and Setup area of the Web interface. This area allows you to adjust any of the above values. |
