Parameter Database Setup Pages

These web pages provide access to all of the Parameter Database values.  The pages are organized by function for quick access.  For detailed information on each PDB value, please refer to Controller Software > Software Reference > Configuration and Parameter Database.

Section Description

Controller

These pages contain the PDB values that apply to the controller in general and not a specific robot.  For example, these values include:  the system name, the GPL version information, DIO configuration and signal values, Ethernet configuration, COM line configuration, etc.

Robot

These pages provide access to all of the PDB values that are specific to a robot.   In systems with multiple robots, before selecting a sub-topic, ensure that the "Select Robot" pull-down at the top of the left panel is set to display the information for the robot of interest.

Joint/Cartesian control:  These are the high level values such as Joint and Cartesian speeds in mm or degree/sec, homing information, jogging data, etc.

Servo Parameters
:  These are the parameters that are set to configure the servo and amplifiers for individual motors.  These values include PID gains, encoder types and resolutions, motor amplifier peak current capability and permitted limits, etc.

Servo Variables:  These are the servo and amplifier values that reflect the dynamic status of the servo, amplifier, and motors.  For example, these values include the current position and speed of each motor, the torque components generated by the PID loop, the currents generated by the current loop, the state of limit switches, etc.

Calibration Parameters: These are the parameters that are set that can be specific to each individual robot (not model of robot).  For example, these values include the link dimensions, the zero positions of each motor, the limit stops, etc.

DIO Motions

These panels display the raw data utilized for the DIO MotionBlocks method of programming the robot.  Normally, this data is accessed via the MotionBlocks tab in the web Navigation Bar and these panels are not used.
