Shutdown Command

Prepare GPL for turning off the controller 24V logic power.

Remarks

This command should be issued before turning off the controller 24V logic power to ensure that no programs are active and that all buffered disk data has been written to the physical device. If you do not use this command, you should wait at least 15 seconds after any disk operations before turning off the controller.

This command stops all user threads, turns off robot power, and waits until the buffered disk data has been written. It then halts the CPU. You must reboot the controller to access it after a shutdown.

After the Shutdown command is issued, GPL responds with the prompt:

Warning: This command will shut down the controller.
Type YES to continue:

You must enter the word "YES" for the command to continue. Otherwise the command is canceled.

When the shutdown operation is complete, GPL displays the message:

Controller is shut down. Okay to turn off power.
