This method homes a motor that is equipped with a 3rd party absolute encoder. This homing method simply reads the absolute position from the encoder and does not move the motor.

- Nikon A 4Mhz and 2.5Mhz absolute encoders

- SSI 24-bit single turn absolute encoders
- Tamagawa SA35-17/33Bit-LPS serial absolute encoders
- Yaskawa Sigma II/III 16-bit, 17-bit, and 20-bit serial absolute encoders
